ChainmailChasers is a story both on YouTube on the channel named Chainmailchasers, and through the ParanormalPrickheads website.
First, this’ll be going over the YouTube channel and the 2 out of 13 seasons we will be getting on it, and then, there’ll be a dive into the ParanormalPrickheads website. Just a warning that this story has foul language, dark topics, and mentions of death. If you are sensitive to that, then make sure to not read it.
From the beginning, ChainmailChasers was a story going over creepypastas and the origins behind them. They have so far went over Slenderman, Jeff the Killer, Smile Dog (or Smile.JPG as an alternative name), and The Rake. It starts out seeming fine with the main protagonist Grace researching about the creepypastas. When it got to Smile Dog though, things started to go south. Through reverse image searching Smile Dog images, Grace had found the abandoned website called ParanormalPrickheads that featured another image of Smile Dog. With deeper investigation including help from a man named Arthur, she found a new image of Smile Dog on a SomethingAwful forum and through chainmail sent into her email telling her to smile. She had downloaded the Smile.JPG image at the bottom of which was the largest, and that was a fatal mistake. On a call with Arthur, Grace is told to cut the stream and open the JPG multiple times. When she does, an image entity is created from the image. It speaks to Grace through being a GIF, and overtime it has it’s affects on her as a “living curse”. Smile.JPEG, also known as the Dragon, is not the only one either. A new character named Davey is introduced in The Rake investigation video, of which seems like a normal ChainmailChasers video other than that there are abnormal glitches caused potentially by The Dragon. The Dragon has also been found speaking through the ChainmailChasers YouTube posts, where it’s name is revealed. Another old channel called Icecreammonkeyfan is introduced, of whom has a couple old posts about things. One to keep in mind though is their video about a basilisk (which will be talked about in the portion about ParanormalPrickheads) that has been said that when it rains people will be forced up, yet when the rain stops, those who weren’t worthy will fall back down to the ground, smiles on their faces and their bodies being extremely messed up. It’s also found that the person- or entity behind Icecreammonkeyfan is in a constant purgatory in a black place, with YouTube being their only place to communicate. The last post to ChainmailChasers was on December 31st, 2024. The last video as of current is a year in rear view, having been posted by The Dragon.
Onto ParanormalPrickheads. It was a research website with forums created in 2003, and wasn’t up. It had research on chainmail, basilisks, angels, fallen angels, and the Bisected King. As of 2024 though, the ParanormalPrickheads website has been brought back up for people to research. It is still a work in progress, yet has a lot of information about the entities that are featured in ChainmailChasers. Basilisks are entities related to demons that have been pushed away from god, and of which are hunted by angels. Basilisks are like parasites, feasting on their host’s mind while waiting to either kill the host, or have them spread it as shown by how Grace has a constant headache after the Dragon got to her, and in a segment of an episode there is a clip recorded by the Dragon where it forms a meta-physical hand and causes her to get ill, resulting in her coughing up blood in her bathroom. The angels are name-sake, angels. They hunt and kill basilisks, killing those who are infected as well without any mercy. The fallen angels are former angels that have been sent down, leaving basilisks in their path. the Bisected King is a king split into two halves. One that is leaning towards the good side, trying to help those around it, and the bad side. The bad side helps to cause harm and is known as the Beast. There is also information about ghosts, other demons, cryptids, chainmail, miscellaneous stories, and miscellaneous images on the ParanormalPrickheads website.
Overall, Chainmailchasers is an interesting work-in-progress story that will take a while to be created. It is extremely interesting though, and EbolaGranola, the creator of ChainmailChasers, has put a lot of effort in creating it and making it a story that she and others enjoy. It is recommended to continue to watch over the ChainmailChasers channel and the ParanormalPrickheads website if you are interested, because more may be posted to it eventually.
