Many people that live in Wichita, Kansas say that there is nothing to do. Wichita may be a very small city, but there are many things to do during your free time. Activities can include laser tag, going to the zoo, or even going to an art museum. If you’re interested in finding things to do then keep on reading.

Botanica Garden

This botanical paradise on the plains has over 18 acres of stunning landscaping that features over 4,000 species of plants both native and new to the region. Botanica is a year-round family-oriented establishment that is fun for all ages. Botanica has many events going on all year. During the winter, they decorate everything with amazing lights.


$7 regular adult admission

$6 Military and senior admissions (62 years and older)

$5 Regular youth admissions

Children 2 and under are free

Sedgwick County Zoo

Why stay home all day when you can visit the zoo? The zoo is an amazing place to take the entire family to have a fun day. The Sedgwick County Zoo is home to 3,000 individual animals and nearly 400 species. Ticket prices depend on your age.


Adult: $15.70 (12yr+)

Seniors $11.70 (62yr+)

Youth: $11.70 (3-11yr)

Children: Free (2yr and younger)

Exploration Place

Exploration Place is a science museum located on the west side of the Arkansas River. Exploration place has a different theme throughout the months which switches it up and doesn’t make the adventure boring over the different times that you go.

Thursday- 10 am to 5 pm

Friday- 10 am to 5 pm
