On Tuesday, October 15, a selection of South High juniors were able to go on a field trip to WSU to further their horizon on which college they’d like to attend. At WSU, students were registered with a barcode so the colleges were able to get all their information to be able to stay in contact. The students had a variety of colleges to view. Many students found the trip informative and helpful. The opportunity of being able to get a look at other colleges helped students who didn’t know how many colleges were within reach. South student, Jocelyn Hernandez, pointed out that she wasn’t aware that there were so many in-state choices until she attended the trip to WSU.
Trips like these provided by South are appreciated by students who need more of an outlook on what their future holds. It can be confusing for students who do not know about the resources provided by the school for furthering their education. Having resources like the CCC and even advice from counselors expand the knowledge students need for preparation of the future.
