Liza Sejkora, a principal from at Camas High School in Washington, has resigned due to backlash over a Facebook comment she made about how Kobe Bryant deserved his death.
Kobe Bryant, a retired 41-year-old NBA player, his 13 year old daughter named Gianna, and seven other people were killed near the Calabasas, California on January 26.
The principal made a comment on Facebook shortly after his death writing, “Not gonna lie, seems to me that karma caught up with a rapist today.”
She soon after deleted her comment, and later said, “You are free to judge me for the post just as I am free to judge the person the post was about.”
Sejkora made the post in regards to the sexual assault allegation made against Bryant in 2003. The charges were later dropped, and Bryant had settled a civil suit with his accuser.
The next day Sejorka received threats and nearly half of the of the 2,124 students at Camas ended up calling out from school for either part or all of the day.
