God Save The Queen

On September 8th, 2022, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, Queen Elizabeth II passed away due to natural causes. She was 96. Charles and Prince William were there by her side when she took her last breath. While Harry and Megan were in Britain he was not present when she passed. He was the last to arrive, and the rest of the relatives rushed in to say goodbye.

Harry was very close to his grandmother like he and William were with Diana.

“Granny, while this final parting between us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings- from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander in Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren.”

Prince William is next in line for King after Charles.

On Saturday the brothers united together. Kate and William joined Harry and Meghan outside Windsor Castle, where wishers and flowers and tributes to the Queen outside Buckingham Palace.

As soon as the Queen’s doctor’s placed her under medical supervision, King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward rushed to Balmoral immediately.

The money will be changed with Charles’s face on it, the national anthem will be changed to God Save The King. On Friday, September 9th, Charles greeted crowds who were outside of Buckingham Palace, supporting him. The flags were half raised and flew until 8 a.m.

Saturday, the 10th, members of the Privy Council gathered and heard the new king say an oath and he gave a speech as well. For the very first time, it was televised. They also played the first verse of the new anthem, ‘God Save The King’.

On 9/11, the Queen’s body was moved to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and a row of soldiers stood to attention during the gesture.

Monday, September 12th, King Charles and The Queen Consort went to Britain’s House in London where Prime Minster Liz Truss said a message. Charles was put on trial and passed in 1649.

Tuesday, September 13th, the queen’s coffin was left by a car accompanied by the Queen’s daughter, Princess Anne. Thousands of people took a moment of silence while her coffin passed by.

Wednesday, September 14th, Elizabeth’s body was taken from Buckingham palace to the Palace of Westminster by 2 p.m. William, Harry, and her other children followed behind on foot. Camilla, Kate, and Meghan followed behind in a car. The Big Ben tolled at 1 minute.

Thursday, September 15th, hundreds of thousands paid their respects in the Century building.

Friday, September 16th, the Queen’s coffin is in Westminster Hall where everyone paid their respects. Charles and Camilla traveled to Wales, marking their final visits to all 4 nations as King.

Saturday, September 17th, the Queen’s coffin was laid in state for the 3rd day in Westminster Hall.

Sunday, September 18th, for the 4th day, her coffin still sits in Westminster Hall. A minute of silence was held across the UK t 20:00. People marked the silence in their homes, neighborhood, and at community events.

Monday, September 19th, Britain and the world said their final goodbyes to Queen Elizabeth II as her funeral was today.

“Prayers are with the King and the royal family.”
