Michigan vs. Iowa

Blake Corum has continued to shine throughout the absence of Donovan Edwards, as he carried the ball 42 times the last two weeks. The Wolverines leaned heavily on Corum and he delivered with a 47-yard touchdown during the 4th quarter to seal the 34-27 win over Maryland.

J.J. McCarthy looked like a sophomore while in the process of making his career. He was over-extending plays when he should’ve just thrown the ball out of bounds. It was an 18-26 passing day for 220 yards, two touchdowns, and zero turnovers.

Iowa’s defense is No.1 in scoring in the country. McCarthy’s going to keep an eye out because the Hawkeyes defensive line is getting to opposing quarterbacks with ease, led by Lukas Van Ness and Aaron Graves.

Saturday’s matchup with Rutgers, Iowa was dead in total offense. (27-10) Kirk Ferentz’s team remains 131st in total putting up 277 yards going 1-for-9 on third down.

Freshman running back Kaleb Johnson has given the team a bit of spark with the 161 rushing yards. Michigan did struggle against Maryland, they allowed nine sacks in four games and tied for second most ahead to Nebraska.

If McCarthy and the Wolverine’s offense plays well, they will probably be undefeated.
