The Minecraft movie has made pronounced waves recently, obviously and it deserves it too~
My spoiler-free thoughts on the movie? It is an excellent study on the elements of Laughability and media and the acceptance of Pseudo-Funny cash grab movies. People may not see it as such but I truly see this movie as a Jester of its time, It pulls the sort of comedy that came out of The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023). Its a silly, and tries to be as authentic to the bit as it could be, which I greatly respect. But I will say one part about the movie that is missing for me since there is very little lore about Minecraft, and the game is still actively updated today I feel like this movie will become outdated in the next few years. With the versatility of a PC game like Minecraft, I feel as though it is constantly evolving and changing to where Minecraft could look pretty different at a later date with things like Mob votes, Mods, Feature ad-ons, Etc. Not too much to worry about all things considered.
Honestly, I think this movie is a major step for silly and Non-sensical movies like this. And the actors play into the bit so much longer than I could ever handle as an actor on set, Big props! I’m also glad to see the re-rise of Jack Black in the media! I was surprised we didn’t see him in more films besides the recent additions to the Kung-Fu Panda series which is…. ehhhh…
Honestly, it’s not half bad of a time and is a good way to turn your brain off after a long hard eight hours of school.
