Academy award winning and critically acclaimed rapper, songwriter, and producer KanYe West took home 2 Grammys to add to his name. KanYe now holds 24 Grammy’s to his name, tied with Jay-Z. His two newest come from his second most recent album Donda. Donda released in the summer of 2021 to much critical acclaim. The two songs which charted the highest, “Jail” featuring Jay-Z, and “Hurricane” featuring Lil Baby and The Weeknd won for, best rap song and best melodic rap performance.
KanYe was also nominated for Album of the year and Rap album of the year. KanYe also had producing credits on Lil Nas X’ “Industry Baby”, featuring Jack Harlow. These he did not win. KanYe lost out to Jon Batiste’s WE ARE, and Tyler the Creator’s CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST respectively. KanYe beat out artists like J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Baby Keem, Lil Nas X, DMX, Jay-Z, and Nas. KanYe just continues to break records and barriers in music, and shows that for him there is no slowing down in his career any time soon.
