QSA, or queer straight alliance, is classified as a student-led group or organization where students who fall under the queer umbrella or who are allies can go to find a safe environment to be themselves without reprimand or judgment. It’s important to have these groups in highschools and middle schools for these exact reasons. Students need somewhere to turn to when they are feeling alone and QSA is perfect for that.
Every QSA group/club is different in their own way, it is very customizable and flexible and it’s very easy for someone to find what their looking for based on welcoming the club itself is. You might find that setting goals for the future is what you want to learn more about. Learning about LGBTQIA+ history is more your style and feeling more connected to how you are as person. Maybe, all you want to do is connect with your peers and find new friends in which you can relate to easily. QSA is a very open-minded group where you are free to be yourself.
