Irena Aizen is a Russian artist who was born in 1962. She was raised in a a family of artist she went to Yaroslavl Art College. Most of her paintings are of a human with bunny ears. She was inspired by ancient Egyptian images of half-man half-animal, while she was going towards that direction she discovered that the hare is often a character in fairy tales and myths in many cultures. She likes to call her paintings philosophical Fairy- Tales for Adults.
Her art mostly took off when she went to Israel. Irena has her artwork featured in prominent institutions, including the Museum of Russian Art in Jersey City, the Naive Art Museum of Latvia in Riga, the Tula Museum of Fine Arts in Russia, Galerie Natalie Boldyreff in Paris, Danielle Peleg Gallery in the USA, Tribes Fine Art Gallery, Egozi Gallery, and Art & About Gallery in Tel Aviv, Israel.
