Normalize Body Modifications
Tattoos and piercings should not define a person. If a person with no tattoos or piercings decides they want one of the two, that doesn’t mean their personality is changing or they’re becoming a different person. Older people are usually the ones that judge, but it can be parents, aunts, uncles, teachers, or just random strangers at the grocery store. Anyways, those people have no right to tell you what to do with YOUR body; if you want a tattoo, get a tattoo, if you want to pierce your nose or belly button, go for it. Don’t let people talk down on you just because you changed one little thing about yourself. That goes for plastic surgery as well, what people don’t understand is we do things like that for ourselves, not to impress everyone else. Body modifications are not a personality trait, they don’t define us as people. If someone doesn’t like how they loo-k, they’re gonna make it so that they like how they look whether its a piercing, tattoo, or plastic surgery.
We should be able to choose what we do with OUR bodies. It shouldn’t be up to anyone else. The world we live in has put into young people’s heads that if they change their body in any way, they will get called names and be judged. Once you hit the age of 18-21 it shouldn’t matter what you do whether is a piercing, tattoo, or plastic surgery, you are a legal adult and should be able to make your own decisions. People should not be getting judged for changing their looks to make themselves more confident.
