Covid-19: Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated
As of 2020, Covid-19 has caused over 660,000 people to die of covid in the United States and 4.5 million worldwide. Since then, time has passed and the vaccines have been distributed and only 53.8% of people have gotten the vaccine. Also in Kansas, 49% have received the vaccine.
While half of the population has protection from the virus, there still isn’t a perfect guarantee that you won’t get covid. The goal is to stop the spread by wearing a mask, social distancing and frequently washing your hands. As of December 11, 2020 the vaccine has been available.
Some of the symptoms for those who are vaccinated are: fever, chills, body aches, sore throat plus loss of taste and smell. However, the severity of the sickness isn’t as much compared to someone who is not vaccinated.
For the past year and a half covid has spread and caused more variants; especially in the last few months. Some of the strains (which is a new form of the original virus). Some of the names are the Delta, Lambda and Gamma variant which are all more contagious and deadly than covid-19. This especially affects young children rather than those in the older age groups.
