9 out 10 Gen Z adults and teens have reported that they have experienced at least one symptom of depression and or mental illness.
But why is there an upward spike in mental health? This is because Gen Z haven’t had a proper way of expressing their emotions and receiving help due to the fact that they feel the need to compress how they truly feel. In America, suicide is the second leading cause of death especially for those ages 10-34.
Depression is so much more than not having motivation to do activities people once enjoyed. For those with severe depression basic hygiene and everyday needs are extremely difficult to meet.
Since therapy isn’t available to everyone, talking to trusted individuals can help drive you into a better direction if you or someone you know is struggling.
