JROTC Veterans Day Ceremony
Annually, Wichita Public Schools JROTC & Leadership programs come together to honor those who’ve served. Every year consists of marching in the Veterans Parade and participating in a special ceremony that is always held at Century II.
The parade consists of many different companies’ floats, JROTC & Leadership students, all armed forces floats, motorcyclists, presentation of the colors, and of course candy being thrown!
While the ceremony is more of a formal setting. All cadets are in uniform, in formation as southeast high school’s band/orchestra plays all the music. There are multiple cadets from different schools, presenting each armed force and American flag, cadets giving speeches about veterans day history and you’ll see many smiling veterans. The veterans who attend normally have made it a tradition to attend. They enjoy seeing the next generation, our future soldiers.
The parade was located in downtown Wichita on November 7th, 2021 while the ceremony taken place at 11 am on November 11th, 2021.
