Some rumors have long suggested that Apple is actively working on various automotive projects that could ultimately lead to an ‘Apple Car’. The entirety of the research falls under the catch-all title “Project Titan”. The term has been used to describe several different elements and tech but falls into two broad categories; self-driving vehicle systems and car designs.
Apple is rumored to be working on a fully autonomous self-driving vehicle that will not require user intervention to drive. They want to design the car with no steering wheel and no petals. Apple has discussed that the interior design might be similar to the Lifestyle Vehicle from Canoo.
Release dates
“Project Titan” was rumored to involve an electric vehicle called “Apple Car,” delivered by 2019 or 2020. In December 2020, Apple confirmed they are still working on launching the car and plans to release a vehicle in three to six years. Apple is aiming for 2024, but Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes it won’t launch until 2025 to 2027 at the earliest.
