How the Internet Impacts Teens
Since the start of COVID-19, the average amount of screen time a teenager gets went from 3.8 hours pre-pandemic, up to 7.7 hours documented in 2020.
Growing up in the early to mid 2000’s has put weight onto the fact that technology has been everchanging during our childhoods. However, this does create positive factors as well because they have access to education which can expand their knowledge on a topic, know their interests, what they do and don’t like, as well as find communities and/or clubs that align with what they believe. Being able to have a deeper understanding, whether that’s about a hobby or something that you’re completely oblivious to, can form new ideas and this cycle continues as we share our feelings.
