This story is for anyone who is looking to learn more about the school club DECA. DECA stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America. DECA provides many opportunities for students to compete against other DECA members in a variety of areas such as marketing management, hospitality, and tourism leadership skills. DECA is mostly a club for students trying to get into business or become leaders but can be useful for anyone.
Club members get to attend conferences to improve their skills. Students will be involved with fundraising competitions, local and international level leadership conferences, team building with other members, and networking opportunities.
If you are looking to join DECA, you will need to go to room A5 and talk to Ms. Margaret Gehring, the club sponsor. There is also a $30 fee to signup. DECA will meet every Tuesday during Titan Time in room A5. An unlimited amount of people are going to be allowed to join DECA. DECA is also going to give club members the opportunity to utilize their skills at different levels and helps students understand the importance of networking and becoming leaders in school and society. Ms. Gehring said that the only thing you will need to bring with you is a positive attitude.
