The Wichita High School South Jazz Band performed at the Wichita Art Museum on Sept. 17th, 2022. Several other Jazz and Pep bands played for National Arts in Education week. The East, South, and Northeast Magnet Jazz bands, the East and Southeast String Ensembles, and North’s pep band all performed, between 11 am and 2:30 pm.
South Played a total of four songs,
- Perpetual Motion: an upbeat song to kick off the performance
- A Little Blues, Please: A melancholy, bluesy song where each instrument locks in step to create a powerful sound
- Perdito: A quickly moving song
- Phat Kat: Another upbeat song that gets your toes tapping to end off the performance
