From ages 18-28 there is a mandatory military service in South Korea for most able-bodied men. The service usually lasts 18-21 months which is just under 2 years. BTS, a popular South Korean boy-band, are among the many who have to serve. The group made their public announcement about the hiatus recently. All 7 will fulfil the mandate and disband till 2025. The 7 members serving include, Jin, Jimin, J-hope, Jungkook, V, Suga, and RM. Although Jin is 29 he has stalled off his service until he can serve with his friends and fellow band members. The group was formed in 2013 which means their 10 years of fame is coming up during their hiatus.
