The Gay-Straight Alliance is having its first out-of-school event for the year. The club will host many movie and game nights, aiming for two every month. The GSA is open for any student to join, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Simply, be a human and you’re in. While the club’s main goal is to spread awareness of queer topics and provide a safe space for everyone, there will be a variety of more fun events. These will mainly be movie nights and game nights.
The first event, coming on the 27th, will be a viewing of Hocus Pocus 2. The movie was selected due to gay representation, along with a drag show in the movie. Also, you do not need to see the original to understand this one. Movie nights are also potlucks, and members are invited to bring snacks, desserts, food, and drinks. However, please follow the allergy list posted on the GSA’s Instagram or listed below. Some desserts you can expect are pumpkin pies and cupcakes.
Allergy List:
- Plums
- Pineapple (So if you’re bringing something like fruit punch, be aware that it may have pineapple juice concentrate)
- Kiwi
- Vinegar (Which is in most condiments, so please be careful! If you want ketchup, please bring packets you have at home)
- Peanuts
