This year’s American Red Cross Blood drive is upon us! South’s ROTC program hosts the event, and you can sign up at the table near the front entrance. Need more info before going in? This article is just for you!
The date of the blood drive is Friday, December 9th. It is from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, which will be a school day. The drive will happen in the Sim Gym. You can sign up every day before the event during lunch. You need to be at least 16, and 16-year-olds will need to fill out a parental consent form. If you’re 17 or above, you can do it without this.
You’ll need some form of ID at the blood drive, such as a State ID or Drivers’ License. The Red Cross will check your medical history and will test your blood before donating to make sure you are eligible.
On the day of, you will get two free snacks and a free juice box while you rest for 15 minutes after having your blood drawn. Also, you’ll receive a ten dollar gift card via email from the Red Cross for your life-saving donation.
