The artist formerly known as Kanye West, Ye, reaches new low with recent anti-Semitic comments. Anti-Semitism is a form of bigotry directed towards the Jewish community. Ye has attacked said community multiple times in the past few months and made multiple harmful comments. His hatefulness can be attributed to his megalomania and being under the allusion that he is being controlled and silenced by Jewish board members and other Jewish executives. Not only is this harmful in itself but it is perpetuating harmful stereotypes. Ye has made many comments about being “black-balled” by Jewish executives which resulted in multiple companies dropping him and his net worth plummeting by over a billion USD. Ye made comments on multiple platforms but most recognizable would be his tweet which stated he was “going deathcon 3 on Jewish people.” Most recently Ye went onto Infowars, hosted by Alex Jones, a show that is known popularly for its use of propaganda and far right messaging. On the show is where Ye reaches a new low with comments that are sympathetic to Nazi leader, Adolf Hitler. Ye’s comments were very sympathetic towards Nazis with remarks like “I love Nazis” and “I love Hitler” as well as praising them for ideas that they did not come up with like highways and microphones. Hopefully the future holds less hate speech for Ye.
