After 2 decades Pantera is doing another North American tour. Going to 20 cities with lamb of god and 12 US with Metallica. Now with the band having only 2 original members, Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown, like most bands they’re getting the cash while they can. Along side the original members are Ozzy Osbourne guitarist and Black Label Society guitarist Zakk Wylde, and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante filling in. Many fans have complained on Facebook that if (insert dead member) were alive this wouldn’t have happened. The members denying this saying that the planning was done before the most recent passing of Vinnie Paul. Others have complained about them touring at all. With a German festival and other European festivals already removing them from the line-up due to controversy. The controversy being the band’s vocalist doing a n*zi salute on stage while yelling white power, among other questionable acts by other members. First he responded saying it was a joke about the white wine members who had been drinking backstage, saying “Some of y’all need to thicken up your skin. There’s plenty of fuckers to pick on with a more realistic agenda. I fucking love everyone, I fucking loathe everyone, and that’s that. No apologies from me.” Later he backtracked, after it affected the money he going to make. Anselmo, of course, made a sit down apology video saying “..jokes were made backstage that transpired upon the stage, and it was ugly.” He states those actions don’t reflect him as a person. Only now, after having shows canceled for it 6 years later. We can only hope he means it. Anthrax’s Scott Ian called Anselmo’s actions “vile.” He went on to suggest Anselmo to “show how much he loves everyone” by donating to the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish human rights organization.
