Air Pollution Is Leading to Changes In Teens’ Blood Pressure

As we all know air pollution has caused much harm to human health as it is the reason for many severe medical problems such as cancer, heart attacks, and difficulty breathing. However, air pollution is not getting any better, In 2021 about 67 million tons of pollution were emitted into the atmosphere in the United States and 9 out of 10 (around 90%) people breathe in this polluted air every day.

according to the study published February 1st in the journal PLOS, one of the cause of the decline in teens’ blood pressure is exposure to higher levels of nitrogen dioxide. As pollution does affect older people it is known to be more harmful to a young persons health and may put them at higher risk for chronic diseases that could lead to heart problems later in life.
