The movie, Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, was a movie made of heart and gold. The question is, how are the new players that became interested in Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) because of this movie?
New players have no doubt come flocking to D&D to see the same wonder the movie has shown, but how will this effect the elder dungeon masters and veteran clerics and bards? Most likely, confusion and disappointment. The new fighters and druids may be surprised of the very imagination dependent yet mathematical and literary parts of the game. New players may expect immediate action and encounters, but get needed development of a story and character creation. But there is hope for our new goblins, with teaching and some first time player learning disasters, the community will surely welcome them with open arms.
