When using social media, you should understand internet safety. Before posting on social media, you should always consider who can see it. When making a post, you should always stay clear of posting things like your location and too much personal information.
A wide group of people I feel struggle to understand internet safety are millennials. The priority of millennials use apps like Snapchat and Facebook. On these apps, you have to understand internet safety and make sure your account is secure. Did you know that 300,000 Facebook accounts get hacked every day? That means 4 of 10 users are victims of social media fraud. The internet is a place where things live forever. When you post on the internet, you should always remember anything you post or say on the internet can be saved or screenshotted and used against you in the future.
When posting on the internet, you should always make sure it’s appropriate. Lately, I’ve seen people post non-age-appropriate things. People who are too young are acting older than they should on the internet, while older people are acting like children. To get deeper into this, I feel that you should be mindful of what you post after having children because your children can see what you post.
Just last month, I was on TikTok and I saw a video of a millennial woman talking about what she had for lunch, then, she continued to eat with her mouth open and snort while eating the food. On another occasion, I saw a woman talking about how hard it was for her to be an adult toddler. I think that adults shouldn’t overshare or act inappropriately on the internet at all.
I think that millennials are supposed to show everyone else how to be adults, but they like to tell younger generations that we will struggle in life because of how we act. However, they as grown adults are acting like children on social media.
