When Invincible first premiered in March, it was a huge hit with comic book fans. The author of the series, Robert Kirkman, who wrote other popular series including The Walking Dead and The Boys, did not miss when he brought his comics to light. Each of his comics ended up turning into popular shows that won countless awards, including Emmys. If you enjoy superheroes and gore, then this is the show for you!
A Little Rundown
Invincible has themes of superheroes and in popular Robert Kirkman fashion, a lot of gore. A lot of the heroes that Kirkman created in Invincible play off of popular characters such as Batman and Superman. Our main character, Mark is the son of an alien Hero named Nolan Grayson and his human mom, Debbie Grayson. His father (Omni-Man) is from another planet known as Viltrum. Viltrumites are people who conquer and rule planets, even fighting each other to death for dominance in their planet. Nolan’s plan was to do just that, come to earth and prepare it for Viltrumite rule. Instead, He fell in love with his now wife, Debbie and they had a child together named Mark Grayson.
Mark Grayson inherited his dads power in his later teen years. With the help of his father he was able to control his powers and use them while in battle. When the time came and his powers were more controlled he chose to go by his hero name, Invincible. Invincible fights along other heroes and strives to protect his planet against threats the best he can. He ends up with powers that become equal to his fathers overtime.
Other works
Invincible is an amazing show and if people are into action packed shows with cool fighting scenes, then this is the perfect thing to watch. People also recommend some of Robert Kirkman’s other work, especially The Walking Dead which has many spinoffs following some of the important characters from the main show itself.
