Rain World, as people know, is a game being worked on by Videocult. It is a survival game, where you play as a little animal called a slugcat and try to survive the harsh conditions with most creatures being predators that try to hunt the slugcat. As of March 26th, 2025, we are 2 days away from the release of the Watcher because it will be released on March 28th, 2025. By the time this article is published, it may already be out. So now, this will go over all the information about Watcher that is known as of now.
The Watcher is not necessarily a new slugcat, instead being an older slugcat that is being revived from their deletion back in the release of the Downpour DLC. They were not forgotten though, and instead are getting their own campaign interestingly enough. As of now, the Watcher will hold multiple new regions and some regions that were originally modded into the game. It also will hold more custom creatures, being completely separate from the Rain World’s current map. It also will likely have custom iterators, considering people have decoded YouTube links for Rain World and one was found that seemed like iterator chatter and laughter. That means iterators may get more dialogue options rather than high-pitched chatter.
New creatures for Rain World Watcher have also been faintly discovered, yet that will not be discussed because I implore those who are reading this and playing Rain World to get Watcher DLC whenever it releases and go exploring to find the creatures. The iterator(s) designs are also unknown for Watcher, as well as their custom abilities and food pips are completely unknown. It will not even have any walkthroughs for a good while, as it is completely new and will have differences from the base game and the DLC.
If this interested anyone in Rain World at all, I recommend buying it. It’s a game on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch. It is made by Videocult, also known as Akupara Games. It is a challenging game, you will die at least one hundred times, yet that does not make it any less fun. If you are interested in difficult survival games, it’s a match made in heaven. And with mods people make for the game such as custom slugcats, it can never truly get boring.
