We are in the big 25′, if you do not know what one piece is… I hate to say this, you’re living under a rock. One piece is THE best anime of all time. This isn’t a new gen anime. It was created in 1999 (the anime). If YOU want to watch some real cool stuff that makes you turn cool overnight, then you MUST watch One Piece! MUST!
A little run down of what One Piece is for all the unfortunate people, straight from Netflix, “ONE PIECE is a legendary high-seas quest unlike any other. Luffy is a young adventurer who has longed for a life of freedom ever since he can remember. He sets off from his small village on a perilous journey to find the legendary fabled treasure, ONE PIECE, to become King of the Pirates!”. Now that we know what One Piece is, here are 4 reasons why you MUST watch it:
Life Lessons: One could be surprised how a “silly little pirate” anime could have life lessons, but it has many! The main ones are: Never give up on your dreams, Bounce Back from Defeat, Learn from Mistakes, True Friendship, Respect All Identities, Never Judge Others, and don’t waste your food because Sanji will be mad at you. My favorite quote from One Piece, and I bet others share the same is, “When does a man die? When he is hit by a bullet? No! When he suffers a disease? No! When he ate a soup made out of a poisonous mushroom? No! A man dies when he is forgotten!” This quote is nice because, yes, your loved ones may be dead, but as long as you remember them they will remain in your hearts, alive. Also, the context of the quote is super good.
Unforgettable Characters: One Piece has outstanding characters that are all unique. Even a dog has a great background and brought people to tears. Many characters in one piece are brave and once they have a dream, they will do anything to accomplish that said dream. All of the strawhats (luffys’ crew) are all chasing a dream. They work together to reach their goal, side by side. What makes the characters so unforgettable? There are different reasons as to why I won’t forget some of the characters. It ranges between, looks, fighting style, background stories, and how significant they are.
Emotional Depth: I couldn’t even tell you how many times I have cried watching One Piece. One Piece does a great job at going into all the characters backstories, sometimes a little too much (dressrosa) and which they’re usually all sad and tragic. The characters are so well written that you can feel a connection with them after just a few episodes. The friendship, personal struggles, and the adventure of the strawhats brings out all of the emotions. All I have to say is Episode 483…
The journey: We as the watchers are going on this journey with them, spoiler alert they have not found the One Piece yet. We are the only generation where we can watch these characters grow and tag along with them to watch them accomplish their dreams and to find the One Piece. One Piece probably won’t end for another few years, so you MUST watch it now if you want to join them on their journey. It’s something you will not forget nor regret. Everyone who has watched One Piece say they love it, unless if they’ve seen only a little bit then they say they like it. The people who says bad things about it are people who didn’t actually watch it. The only bad thing about One Piece is the pacing but they are in the works of remaking it with better pacing.
There are so many reasons as to why one should watch One Piece, I am NOT kidding when I say it is THE best anime ever. If you decide to watch One Piece it’ll be something that you will never forget.
Facts: Am I just saying everyone likes One Piece? Nope.
- There are over 380 million manga copies- It is the best selling manga
- It is the first anime to reach over 1 billion hours watched across platforms
- There are One Piece restaurants
- People are rebelling against their countries (Nepal and Indonesia) and putting up One Piece flags. (Symbols freedom) Why would they do that if they did not like One Piece?
