The final score, South 47-Maize 35. The final outcome, South defends their state title.

It felt a little bit like deja vu, and well it should. The Lady Titans defeated the Maize Eagles 47-35 to win their second consecutive 6A state basketball title. Led by Ericka Mattingly and Eledria Franklin who combined to score 27 points, the Lady Titans were able to finish this season just as they did last, with a record of 24-1 and another state championship.

While it was close during the first half, South led by 4 at the break, 16-12, the Lady Titans were able to open things up in the third quarter, leading by 10, 29-19, as the teams headed to the fourth. In the final quarter the pace picked up but the Titans never backed down. Out scoring the Eagles by 2, 18-16, the Titans were able to put the finishing touches on yet another remarkable season.
