Women influence so much because they have to fight for basic human rights. From women being able to vote for the first time in the 1920’s to having our first female vice president, Kamala Harris. They have fought continuously for centuries and this is just the beginning.
For example, someone that made a immense impact was Ruth Bater Ginsburg. She was an American lawyer and jurist who severed in the supreme court from 1993 until 2020 when she unfortunately passed away from pancreatic cancer. Ginsburg made it possible for marginalized communities to have equal rights.
Someone else that created a positive influence on society was Frida Kahlo. Through her art, she was able to show that she was a feminist and that she cared for the rights of others. In the 1970’s, she was admired as an icon of female creativity.
While is certainly isn’t easy being a woman in America, its important to look at the people who have put their power to use and you, too can do this. You don’t have to be a woman to be a feminist. Men and those of other gender identities should support those who face the discrimination that unfortunately comes with being a woman. We should build each other up, not break one another down.
