Shadow of the Colossus is a gorgeous game on PlayStation2, PlayStation3, PlayStation4, and PlayStation5. It was worked on by the groups Team Ico and Sony Interactive Entertainment. It’s a game made by Fumito Ueda and has been unrivaled for years with it’s uniqueness and it’s storytelling. Shadow of the Colossus focuses on a boy named Wander, who is trying to revive a girl with unknown relations yet presumed to be his girlfriend named Mono. He rides a horse steed named Agro who helps him fight sometimes. He is met by an entity named Dormin, who tells him to kill the 16 Colossi that hold pieces of him inside of them.
As you progress, the game tries to make you think the Colossi are both living creature, and automatons that are only surviving on the pieces of Dormin inside of them. If you kill them they become the ground that once made them come to life. In the end, it does not give a very happy ending, and instead one that will hold heavy on your heart (if you’ve gotten attached to the characters) is when you lose the character you played with for the whole game.
If you want a game with a challenge, spunk, and beautiful graphics I highly recommend Shadow of the Colossus, and I would rate it on fame. Many other people who have played it would be able to confirm that though the controls are janky, and the camera sucks sometimes, it’s one of if not the most unique game other than its predecessor, Ico of which was also made by Team Ico.
