Due to some situations in the US, the future has become very clear to the socially aware. The Boomers are harassing the younger generations once again, Damn kids and their (*Insert thing they don’t understand*) not respecting their elders these days!
Your generation had the biggest wealth boom the world had ever seen. You were the most rebellious generation we have ever seen! Yet the older you all got, you became the opposite of what you fought for, angry, crotchety, and greedy old people. You had the best chance to make sure that the generations afterward could have prospered, but you didn’t. Understand this; First, my generation won’t be able to afford a house due to your generation failing to distribute your wealth, not me just wanting an energy drink for $3.50 at some dinky vending machine.
To frame this, Boomers are now yelling at people way into their 40’s about, ‘Avocado toast’ and ‘Entitlement.’ It’s so normal nowadays, that we just tune out anyone over the age of 60. Even we as #teens were born with the mechanisms to tune these entitled jerks out of the stratosphere.
No, it is not our fault that when the economy was put into your hands was promptly crushed. It’s not our fault that you choose oil and gas guzzlers over renewable sources of energy that make the world better. No, it’s not our fault that you forgot your Facebook login. The choices you made before any of us were even born aren’t our fault, they are yours. You can’t divvy up blame on one generation that was barely alive when you chose to open a 401k. Sorry, I was a little financially irresponsible at 2.5 years old, spending my mom’s money on Similac and yogurt.
I will say this, not all grandmammas and grandpapas are bad, sometimes they even give cookies. No, I’m not calling your old folks bad people, but if you have them you know what behaviors I’m talking about. They will always find a way to mention what they think is wrong with the world. Complaining here and there, mouth full of tiny little jabs at the newest generation, you know the deal.
Don’t be afraid to ignore these people. Ignore? Yes, Ignore them, giving these people any attention gives them fuel for their fire. Giving them attention Just lets their fighting have some sort of justification for their behavior, real or not.
