Ever since Elon Musk owned Twitter it’s been H*ll. “Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes and others who are in the entertainment industry are planning to quit Twitter because Elon Musk who’s a “free speech absolutist” who’s vowed to make changes including reversing the ban on former President Donald Trump.

“Not hanging around for whatever Elon has planned. bye.” Rhimes tweeted to her 2 million followers on Twitter Saturday afternoon, two days after Musk closed his $44 billion deal so he could purchase the service.
-Sara Bareilles (S.B.)-
The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter born and raised in Eureka California (now lives in New York) tweeted to her 3 million followers on Twitter. (I’m actually shocked about her doing this).
“Welp. It’s been fun Twitter. I’m out. See you on other platforms, peeps. Sorry, this one’s just not for me.” She added a heart and praying hands emoji to the text.

The Grammy winning R&B star tweeted to her 2 million followers Friday, she said she had seen on Twitter that since Musk’s take over;
“I’m shocked and appalled at some of the “free speech”. I’ve seen on this platform since its acquisition. Hate speech under the veil of “free speech” is unacceptable; therefore, I am choosing to stay off Twitter as it is no longer a safe space for myself, and my sons.”

Foley is a retired professional wrestler and actor. He tweeted that he’s taking a “break” from Twitter “since the new ownership-the misinformation and hate it seems to be encouraging-has my stomach in knots.”
“I really do enjoy connecting with all of you on social media, but it can get overwhelming sometimes. I think I’ll be back on in a few weeks, but in the meantime, I will continue to post on Facebook and Instagram,” He wrote Friday “I hope all of you will be kind to one another.”

He’s a co-creator of the showtime drama’s “Billions” and “Super Pumped”. He recently tweeted;
“Y’all’s, for real, come find me over on Instagram and the tok. Gonna really try to take a breather from here for a minute or a month come deal close time.”
The screenwriter and producer have locked his tweets, and only approved followers can see what he posts.

The comic book creator and artist (best known for The Amazing Spider Man), tweeted this the day Musk bought twitter which was in April;
“The day Elon Musk buys Twitter is the day I delete my account and leave Twitter.”
In an email he confirmed he was permanently done with Twitter.
“Yeah, I left. I said I would leave if Musk bought Twitter. Musk bought Twitter. So, I had no choice. The move only emboldened those most toxic users. The racist, patriots, and the creeps are back in full force. I have no regrets.”

“Hi everyone. I’m coming off Twitter today, let’s see where we are when the dust settles. Today the dust has revealed too much hate, too much in the wrong direction. Love, kindness, and possibilities for all of you.”

The comic book artist and illustrator who has worked on projects in “The Simpsons”, media universe confirmed a message on LinkedIn that he will be deleting his account due to Musk’s takeover.
“I thought I might wait to see if he reinstated Trump’s account but decided that there were plenty of reasons to leave even absent of a Trump return.”

“Hey all-I’m out of here. No Judgement. Let’s keep the faith. Let’s protect our democracy. Let’s try to be kinder.”

The actor best known for playing Deanna Troi in “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, deactivated her account and left the platform because of Musk. Her publicist confirmed was in an email.
“I’m sorry but I cannot be a part of anything owned by #ELONMUSK and his cabal of deplorable’s. I’ll stay on for a couple of days so that we can say goodbye but after that I’m gone.”

Actor and filmmaker best known for playing Bill in the “Bill & Ted” film series alongside Keanu Reeves, locked his Twitter account after Musk’s acquisition. His bio says, “Not Here” and it links to his Instagram profile.
“Elon Musk taking over Twitter and making it a private company with less oversight has immediately made the platform more prone to hate speech, attacks, and the spread of disinformation. If Twitter returns to being a public company run by rational actors, many of us will return.”
