The 5 Worst Transfers From the 2014 Summer Transfer Window

The transfer window closed a little more then 2 months ago. Many great signings were made. Others not so great. Two months after the transfer window some players who one would have thought were destined to fail are actually succeeding with their new clubs. Here are the 5 worst signings who have made an impact on their team so far and as of right now.

5. Guillermo Ochoa to Malaga: Free transfer

After a tremendous world cup, one would think Ochoa would be starting for Malaga but Kameni has played well in goal for Malaga, limiting Ochoa’s chances. It is rumored that he wants out and might go to Liverpool. He might make his official debut with Malaga on December 3rd when they play en La Copa de Rey.

4. David Luiz to PSG from Chelsea for 50 million

David Luiz is a good player don’t get me wrong, but is he really worth $50 million? PSG paid too much for him. They could have gotten someone better than Luiz and for a lot cheaper. He was inconsistent in the premier league. He has had good performances but not enough to say he was worth wasting $50 million for and that is why he is on this list.

3.  Felipe Luis to Chelsea from Atletico Madrid for $20 million

Felipe Luis is a good player who won La Liga title with Atletico last season but why pay $20 million for a player who can’t even make the starting 11 for Chelsea? It doesn’t make sense. He’s 28 years old and is unlikely to have the same resale later on in the future.

2. Radamel Falcao to Manchester United from AS Monaco on loan

Falcao is a well known player and is loved by soccer fans but Falcao has been having a hard year. He missed the world cup because of an injury. He has only played in 3 out of 10 games for Manchester United. He has only scored 1 goal with Man Utd and his contract is very expensive. It would have been smarter and cheaper to keep Javier “chicharito” Hernandez and Danny Welback.

1. Luis Suarez to F.C Barcelona from Liverpool for $128 million

Luis Suarez is an amazing player and it can even be argued he us the best striker in the world at the moment for what he did earlier this year. But $128 million for a player who couldn’t play for 4 months for biting Chiellini during a world cup match between Italy and Uruguay is ridiculous. In the two games he has started for Barcelona, they have lost. He hasn’t been affective to the squad in anyway. That is why he is the worst transfer so far of the summer of 2014.
