According to YoungLife.org, Young Life is a Christian ministry that reaches out to middle school, high school, and college students in all 50 of the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. At South, our YL chapter is sponsored by English teacher Renee Rivera.
Ms. Rivera describes Young Life as: “…a camping club, actually. We take kids to camp—weekend camps and week-long camps in the summer. YL is about relationships—hearing one another’s stories and doing life together.
“South YL meets once a month for CLUB—camp-type games, skits, FOOD, and fun.
“USD 259 YL has activities throughout the year. For example, we recently had a city-wide club at City Life Church, we will have volleyball matches at the Sandbox in DERBY on Oct. 2nd, and a BIG favorite is BARN club.”
