Friday, March 28th, Wichita South High JROTC, Iron Titan Battalion, took on the Kansas State Archery Competition held at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. The tournament features both team and individual competitions. South High was the only USD 259 school to qualify for BOTH tournaments at Nationals. The Archery team walked away with the 1st place title for 3D. Furthermore, the team had two other top-placing trophies. The two students were Emily Roush and Clayton McPherson. Roush placed HS Females 3rd overall in bullseye. McPherson placed overall HS Males 2nd in 3D, aiding the team’s overall placement for the 1st place title for 3D. The team scored a total of 3128 on bullseye.
This month, JROTC will continue to prepare for nationals and will select cadets for JCLC.
The summer camp will be held from June 16-21, 2025 at Fort Riley, KS this year.
