Lee Harvey Oswald was born in New Orleans in 1939 and later joined the U.S. Marine Corps. After leaving the military, Oswald became involved in political activities and eventually moved to Dallas, Texas. He traveled to the Soviet Union where he defected later that year. Later, he was questioned about his loyalty to the United States and his intentions in the country. In March 1961, Oswald got married and a little over a year later he returned to the US.
Oswald’s return to the US had been suspicious. Others say that he could not adapt to life in the US or the Soviet Union. He also attempted suicide in a desperate attempt to stay in the Soviet Union, many believe that the Soviets saw him as worthless to their cause.
On the other hand, others saw him as a weapon to assassinate President John F. Kennedy. The Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev wanted revenge and security his sights on Kennedy after the defeat in the Cuban Missile Crisis.
On November 22, 1963, President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Dealey Plaza. Three shots were fired. Two hitting Kennedy and one Governor Connelly. The Governor survived. Oswald supposedly shot and killed President John F. Kennedy from a sixth-floor window of the Texas School Book Depository. He was arrested but was shot and killed two days later.
During the investigation, the “single bullet theory” was introduced to the world by the Warren Commission. The theory was that the 2nd shot, also known as the “magic bullet,” caused multiple wounds to both President Kennedy and Governor Connally during the assassination. According to this theory, the bullet entered Kennedy’s back, exited through his throat, and then struck Connally, causing several injuries. It’s a controversial theory that has been the subject of much debate and scrutiny. But how could one single bullet do so much damage?
In 2007, Italian experts used the same rifle to recreate Oswald’s “supposed” shooting. it was found out that it was basically impossible to reload and fire three shots in less than 19 seconds. Many people agreed that Oswald wasn’t skilled enough to shoot Kennedy from the depository. Based on this information many say that perhaps Oswald was not the assassin. Or many he didn’t do this alone, or he teamed up with the Soviets to kill Kennedy.
Rewinding to before Kennedy was murdered, The Cuban Revolution started and it was an armed revolt led by Fidel Castro, the US ended up getting involved in Cuba because the US didn’t want a communist nation or the Soviet Union influence so close. The US wasn’t on the same page as Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro. One of the reasons Kennedy was the enemy of Cuba was that the nation was trying to aim missile weapons at the US mainland, but Kennedy refused to let that happen. Based on this information, could the Cubans have something to do with Kennedy’s assassination?
Others say that maybe the CIA was involved. Kennedy was adverse to the CIA. He said that he wanted to “splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds”. He also wanted the reduce the agency’s budget by 20%.
The Bay of Pigs invasion was a plan to overthrow the Cuban leader Castro, but it didn’t work out. President Kennedy didn’t support the rebels, which made the CIA mad at him. He ended up firing some CIA people, and when he visited Dallas, the mayor was the brother of one of those people. Based on that information maybe the CIA was involved with his death.
Based on the information, it could’ve been anyone who killed Kennedy. It could’ve been the Cubans, The Soviets, or Oswald teaming up with someone else.
