Laufey(Lay-vay) is a Chinese-Icelandic jazz singer. She is currently 25 years old. At the age of 15 she was a cello soloist with the Iceland symphony orchestra! At 19 she recorded her first song! She has over 20.1M monthly listeners on Spotify. Besides being a singer she plays the piano, guitar, cello and the violin. Her twin sister Junia performs with Laufey when she goes on tour as a violinist. I suppose it runs in the family, as their mom is a classical violinist!
On November 1st in 2024, she put out a Christmas album called a “A Very Laufey Holiday”. It has a total of 5 songs on the Christmas album.
The first song on the album is Santa Baby, which was originally sang by Eartha Kitt. Personally I think her cover of Santa baby is one of the best I’ve heard, it’s far better than what Kim Kardashian did.
The next song she sang is Winter Wonderland by Felix Bernard and Richard Bernhard Smith. The 3rd song on the album is a cover of Christmas Dreaming by Frank Sinatra.
Her 4th song is also a cover that’s by Frank Sinatra, The Christmas Waltz. I mean, who doesn’t like Frank Sinatra songs! The last song is her love song To Keep Me Warm by Laufey and Dodie. This song actually came out as a single in 2021. This is my favorite song that’s on the album!
