Why Do We Dream?

The theory of dreaming is that they help you store important memories and learn about what you are really feeling on the inside. Sigmund Freud, neurologist and founder of psychoanalysis, believed that dreams represented unconscious desires, thoughts, wish fulfillment and motivation. However, finding the meaning of dreams isn’t this easy. Oftentimes our dreams can be disguised as other things and this is shown through manifest dreams and latent dreams. Latent being the real dream and manifest being the goal of dream interpretation is to reveal it.

Some of the most common dreams are: falling, being chased and teeth falling out.

For nightmares, being anxious and stressed in waking life can trigger nightmares because these are factors that are playing in someone’s life that they may not be able to control.

Of course all of these dreams could mean nothing as it could be random thoughts and memories that we have throughout our lives. It entirely depends on what you think your dreams mean.
