Did The World Really End In 2012?
For years there was speculation that on December 21, 2012, the world was going to end. Some of the predictions were that we’d be wiped out by a natural disaster like a tidal wave, an earthquake, or a tremendous volcanic eruption. Others believed that on that day, the earth would collide with a mysterious Planet X, causing a magnetic pole shift, gravitational reveals, or a black hole so big that our whole solar system would disappear.
The Ancient Mayans predicted and recorded it on their Long Count calendar more than 2,200 years ago, stating that there would be an apocalypse. The Mayans who developed the Long Count calendar believed the end of one cycle would signal the beginning of another, therefore, making December 22, 2012, a new Grand Cycle. Some people in the U.S and Europe came to believe that the calendar would not reset, but instead, the end of the cycle would bring the end of the world. Some claimed that there was a scientific explanation for their prediction: On December 21, they said, the winter solstice and the Milky Way’s equator would align. Another outlandish theory is that they believed that the Mayans were following extraterrestrial instructions when they developed their calendar. For instance, others fear that aliens would use the Long Count calendar to time their takeover of our planet.
2020
In Ethiopia Calendar, there are 13 months instead of 12 like what we are accustomed to. It is similar to the Coptic Egyptian Calendar since both have 13 months, 12 of which have 30 days, and an intercalary month at the end of the year called Pagime, which means ‘forgotten days’ in Greek. This last month has five or six days in a leap year. Currently, the year in Ethiopia is 2014, making the year we know as 2020 2012. According to the Mayan calendar and the Ethiopian calendar, the last day of the world was December 31, 2019. 2020 was the year our world changed, the truth came to light, and people “woke” up. Conspiracies state that we are in a different dimension which is why everything is very different, an example is the mandala effect.
Simulation
It’s believed by many and at least a lingering thought among others that we live in a simulation. Many movies have contributed to these theories, such as The Matrix, The Truman Show, Ready Player One, etc. The novel Stimulacron contributed to opening up the concept of simulated realities in the collective conscience of Plato, with his “allegory of the cave”; likened human beings to chained prisoners unable to see reality. Many try to debunk this theory by bringing religion into the picture and stating “God” or higher power created the universe, and we’re all on earth with a purpose. Others cannot grasp that the world they live in is not reality…which I don’t blame them.
Rizwan Virk, a tech entrepreneur and author of The Simulation Hypothesis, said: “Simply because we perceive the world as ‘real’ and ‘material’ doesn’t mean that it is so. The findings of quantum physics may shed some doubt on the fact that the material universe is real. The more that scientists look for the ‘material’ in the material world, the more they find that it doesn’t exist.”
