Nothing like a Nickelback album for the holiday seasons. First thing I whispered in Santa’s ear was “11 new Nickelback songs”. I mean who didn’t ask for this? Yes you heard that right, five long years without music and we are finally graced- no blessed! with 41 minutes of new Nickelback. 

“What the world needs right now is a Nickelback album, right?”

In a recent WRIF interview regarding the band’s new music lead singer of Nickelback Chad Kroeger reveals that their earlier work was never meant to be taken seriously. When speaking of their record, yes they still make music, he talks about his frustration with the way the bands been represented. Kroeger says the band was misrepresented as “douchebags taking themselves too seriously”.

But they knew their corny songs were corny. “I think it is hilarious, and anybody that thinks that we take this band seriously is hilarious cause were just four goofballs sitting there going, ‘Can you imagine if they play this on the radio?’ Then you guys play it on the radio.”  Kroeger says. As the band has aged they’ve come to write more meaningful songs, with their new album including a song on miscarriage inspired by Chad’s cousins experience going on to say it really affected him. So hey, maybe they aren’t that bad. Maybe you’ll listen to the new album, maybe you wont. I know I’m not!
