In just a few weeks the entire Royal Family will be gathering around together for their annual Christmas in Sandringham. It’s a tradition that everyone celebrates Christmas in Sandringham. This year things will be a little different because Charles decides to make some changes.

BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond tells OK! Magazine that the first Christmas with King Charles is going to be “less formal” and “less buttoned up” than previous years. When Queen Elizabeth II was still alive everyone had to follow strict rules during the holidays, (bowing and curtsying). Now that Charles is king, he wants a more laid-back Christmas. He decided that he was not going to make everyone watch his Christmas speech as the Queen would do, He was going to pre-record the annual address to the nation, and he wants the family to spend the day remembering the Queen and celebrating Christmas.

Bond said, “I’m sure he’ll record a few days before, and it’s bound to have some reflection on their loss.”

Since some traditions are changing, the royals will still be doing their walk on the Sandringham estate, and they’ll return home for a Christmas dinner. Harry and Meghan were invited for Christmas, but they will not be attending.
