SZA officially dropped her new single, “I Hate U” on December 2nd, 2021. The song originally arrived in August when SZA shared it as an unreleased song on Soundcloud. Even though it was not a fully proper released song, “I Hate U” still gained traction on the social media platform, TikTok, and SZA referred to it in an Instagram post stating “Honestly this started out as an exercise, I jus wanted somewhere to dump my thoughts out w out pressure… ya’ll made it a thing and I’m not made lmao. Ask and you shall receive.”
