Are teens becoming too politically active?
In 2025-2026, teens have been becoming more active in politics. I believe that’s a good thing! Genz is being called the “dumbest” generation, i believe that is not true. We are more socially aware and we think bigger not inside or to society standards.
Researchers from the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics found that many young Americans are highly aware of political issues, even though trust in government and institutions has dropped.
Social media is definitely one of the most influential platforms for teens to get more involved. Teens these days are more active on social media, it’s one of the most common things to have. I believe social media can be used in a good way. You reach more people and people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Most teens are paying attention to topics like:
- gun violence
- abortion rights
- education
- racial equality
- The economy
- taxes
- gas prices
A lot more teens are democrats, wanting more of an active government. They don’t want tradition, they want change! I believe America has a bright future just from seeing how active teens are! Recently they use their amendment rights to make their own voice heard. In Wichita we’ve had almost every USD259 have a walk out about the I.C.E violence around the U.S.
There’s always protest in downtown Wichita, I’ve been to one and it was so inspiring. The people were nice and it was peaceful! I even ended up on a TikTok, which he makes a lot about the protest downtown interviewing people protesting! His @ is good.trouble01 on TikTok!
Teens now are the future, they fight for what they believe in. They are socially conscious about what is happening!!
