One of the best things to do in high school is to join clubs and sport teams. South offers clubs for any interest and every season is packed with sports.

In fall, although games have already started, we have male football and soccer teams, a female tennis team, and a unisex cross-country team. On the fifteenth of November, the Winter Season begins. A male swimming/diving team will come together, and so will a basketball, bowling and wrestling team for everyone. Finally, after the new year, Spring season begins on the twenty-eighth of February. Having the most sports, Spring will host men’s basketball and tennis, women’s soccer, softball and swimming/diving, and a unisex track/field teams.

South has a wide variety of clubs to join, for many interests and goals. If you’re stressed, take a creative break in Creative writing, creating calm (where you can flex your creative fingers with various yarn crafts) or chess club. Perhaps you want to make a change in student leadership, student council or the gay-straight alliance. If you need help with school work or your job, South has titans reach out, the FCCLA, the MCLA, or OWLS.

The best way to stay updated on new clubs or when a club meets is through the morning announcements. Clubs are forming often, so make sure to listen to the daily bulletin. If you want to form a club, you only need to gather enough students and a sponsor (any willing teacher)!
